MCT oils

MCT stands for medium chain triglycerides. These are esters from the fatty acid C8-10 and glycerine. On a natural basis these are mainly derived from tropical palm kernels (8%) and coconuts (15%). The development of the MCT plant at Prignitzer was a further, important step towards the provision of high grade products.

MCT oils manufactured by Prignitzer are produced using renewable primary products only and are used in the following areas:

· foodstuffs
· enteral and parenteral nutrition
· baby food

· cosmetics
· ointments, cremes, lotions
· bath oils

· pharmaceuticals
